Oct 14 email - Golfin and baptizing n stuff

This week was another great week. We were able to teach a lot of people and had lots of great experiences. This week we decided that we are going to run more, and it is really cool running through the country fields at 6:30 AM, and watching the sunrise and all that great stuff. It makes a terrible thing a little less terrible. haha

We were talking to this member in our ward this week that is way too cool. He is a cop here, and in addition to being in the police department, he is also on swat, and a specialized sniper for the swat team. He is beyond ripped, and he is too awesome. He had a big sniper competition and he was showing us all the targets. They had like civilians and everything.. pretty crazy targets. and he was dead on. So i am glad i became friends with him. It makes me feel safe.

We had interviews with the mission president this week which was awesome. He was able to give me some really great advice, and helped me really get excited to get out and baptize! speaking of baptizing, we are getting 4 people ready for baptism. We have been working really hard and we are really seeing the blessing come. We have a newer investigator named John. he is like 20 and we are teaching him and his mom. We taught him the plan of salvation, gave him a book of Mormon, and gave him a promise that God will show him that our message is true. In this lesson I really felt like I was teaching, really teaching in unity with elder Larsen, switching off equally, and it just turned out to be an amazing lesson where the spirit was so strong. I am excited to see how he progresses. We also finally got ahold of some other potential investigators we have been trying to track down for a long time. I convinced Elder Larsen to go to this one ladies house that we had basically given up on. I had a feeling we should try there one more time, and she was actually there and we were able to get to know her and her 2 boys, and really set things up well. It was so amazing.

We are teaching one of the only black people in Wilton. He feels like Brigham Young was a racist, slave supporting man that he doesn't agree with. So that will be quite the concern to overcome. haha but The Lord will provide :)

Another awesome thing we were able to do this week was go golfing with the High Priests. We were able to go because there were 2 less actives and 3 non members there golfing with us. We golfed 18 holes, and by the end we because good friends with all of them, and set up appointments with all 5 of those guys. It was incredibly successful. Plus i golfed really well and blew them away. On one of the holes i pulled out my driver and hit it 285 yards... the high priests in my group almost wet their pants.. haha it was funny. But it was a lot of fun. And after when we were in the clubhouse getting to know the non members and less actives better, the BYU game just happened to be on.. I may have glances a few times. It was really nice seeing my cougs. haha

Overall it was a great week. I have really seen the Lord bless us for our obedience. It amazing being an instrument in the Lords hands, and with him I know that i can do anything out here. I love being able to spread the gospel, and i am so grateful for all the support i am continually getting from back home!

Love you more than Californians love to roll through stop signs!
haha
XOXO
