What a lovely week it was in Georgetown. We were able
to get a lot done, and have lots of good things coming.
First, Emily is getting Baptized on Wednesday and we are
really looking forward to that. The whole ward is really excited, and it has
been such a blessing working with the Johnston family. They are always texting
us asking for scriptures they can look up to feel better or to answer some sort
of question. Yesterday at church they all looked so happy. The Gospel truly
blesses families.
We had interviews with the mission president this week. I
love being able to talk one on one with the mission president and discuss
questions and how we are doing. Always a highlight. Now that daylight savings
ended it gets dark at 5, making it really hard to proselyte. People do not like
opening their door when it is dark.
On Saturday we went with a few members to split wood for
members in need. Since we are up in the woods, everyone uses a wood stove to
warm their house through the winter. That means they need lots of wood, which
means we get to split lots of wood for the next few weeks. We were going to
town with mauls, axes, and splitters. Good times.
Fun Fact of the day: Being sick as a missionary < Putting
your fingers in a blender and turning it on high. I decided that this week as i
was quite sick.
Our ward had their primary program on Sunday. Because there
are only 7 primary kids, many members of the ward participated as well. I
always love Primary Programs because it is the sincere and innocent testimonies
of the kids. Jesus even said we need to be like the children. There is a reason
for that. The spirit was so strong throughout the program.
Being a missionary is so rewarding. There are so many
struggles, but so many blessings and amazing experiences as you are helping
people who truly need God's love in their life. We were able to testify of the
Plan of Salvation to a lady who just lost her husband. Seeing the hope come in
her eyes was proof that she was feeling the spirit. We can all be that person
who people look to for help in those hopeless times. The Mission President and
I studied Helaman 3:35:

Nevertheless they did afast and bpray oft, and did wax
stronger and stronger in their chumility, and firmer and firmer in the faith of
Christ, unto the filling their souls with joy and consolation, yea, even to
the dpurifying and the esanctification of their hearts, which sanctification
cometh because of their fyielding their hearts unto God.
As we turn to Christ and strengthen our faith in him during
our trials, we will feel his love and his outstretched hand there to guide us
through our struggles. As we yield our hearts to God he will purify and
Sanctify us, even unto the filling our souls with joy and consolation. Study
this verse. As a representative of Jesus Christ I promise you that this is
true. I love this Gospel. I love Serving. And I love all of you.
