June 30th 2014 email

What a week. Lots of good things have happened.
First off, we met with Dalila a few times. We taught her about baptism and all the things that lead up to it, and she said she is really excited for it. She met a lot of the ward members and came to a dinner with us on friday. Dalila came to church and loved it as well. We are excited for how she is progressing, and would appreciate continued prayers for her that everything will go smoothly.

Yesterday at church we had a girl come up to us before sacrament meeting started and said she just moved in, wasnt a member, she walked 2 and a half miles to church, and she wants to be baptized. My first thought was that she had to be joking, but she was serious. My mind was blown. We asked where she lived and she lives in a neighboring ward so we let those missionaries know. Even though we wont be teaching her, it was such a cool experience!

We had a "Till we meet again" meeting with President Lewis on Friday to say bye and get some last advice before he leaves tomorrow. It was hard to say goodbye because he has been such an amazing president, but i am excited to meet President Jardine and begin working with him. We will see how it goes.

At church on Sunday i was asked to give a talk in sacrament meeting. I only had a few bullet points written down and 15 minutes to talk. The spirit definitely helped me with that one. I dont really remember what i said, but people told me it was great so i guess it worked out. Talking with the spirit is an amazing thing. After i got through that, the Primary President asked us if we could do sharing time for the primary so we threw something together real quick. It is always fun to go into the primary as a missionary. All the kids love you. :)

We have been doing the New Member Lessons with Janae. She is super solid and has been doing great the past few months of her membership.

I went on an exchange in one of the neighboring wards and we went to dinner at a house where the family is very musically talented. He had a really nice drum set and i mentioned how i used to drum. So before we left we went into his recording studio and i drummed as he laid down a funky beat on his bass guitar. It felt good drumming again. I miss the jam sessions we used to do in high school. good times.

Well, the work in Folsom is still great. I love you all lots. I hope the summer is treating everyone well! The weather here is over 100 every day this week, with it 108 again today. It is lovely.

God is always there. Just ask for help.

XOXO
