Time to start transfer 4 here in Folsom. When i am done with
this transfer it will be 6 months that i spent it Folsom. It is a great area
though, so I am alright with that.
There is not too much that is new here in the Folsom 5th
ward. There wasnt any new progress with our investigators except for Rowena,
who is one of our top progressing investigators. She had to cancel the
appointment we had set up with her, so we invited her to come to a baptism with
us. She came and loved it. She said she could feel the spirit and liked how
nice everyone was. We are going back this friday and are going to commit her to
be baptized on June 21. We are praying that she will be impressed by the spirit
to accept it and prepare herself for that day. Working with her as been a
miracle. We just happened to tract into her during the only 2 hours of the
whole week she is available. That wasnt a coincidence. I promise you all that.
So we will see how it goes.
Elder Dorff and I went to a new missionary meeting,
basically where all the trainers and trainees meet up and talk about how
everyone is doing. It was fun to be with the President and AP's. I love them.
We also did a bunch of service for people this week. We helped a bunch of
people move, helped in the demolition of a house, and made a mess of a backyard
look amazing. Being able to spend some time out of the proselyting clothes and
getting dirty is a nice little break. Service is lovely.
In addition to that, we found a rattlesnake this week. We
have been searching for rattlesnakes because we hear so much about how they are
everywhere. We found one coiled up in a sprinkler box of a house we were
knocking on. The person wasnt home so we went over and knocked on the neighbors
door. A little girl answered and the first thing we heard was the dad coming in
from the back yard yelling at his daughter to close the door over and over.
Before the door was shut we mentioned the rattlesnake and that we wanted a
shovel to kill it so his daughter didnt get eaten, he became quite friendly. so
that was exciting. The Green family from Wilton took us out to dinner this week
too. I love that family. And last thing, the members we live with threw a
massive birthday party for their high school aged son this past weekend.
Saturday night consisted of listening to 40 high school kids having a swim
party and dancing to music and a crazy light show until 11:30PM. That made it
hard to fall asleep. Good times though.
I hope All of you are enjoying your summer breaks. There is
no rest for the Lord's Servants, so while you are sitting by the pool drinking
your diet cokes, think of Elder Black and Elder Dorff out somewhere in
Sacramento finding people to baptize in the 100+ weather.
