It is kinda crazy that it is already September, isnt it?
Georgetown must have some kind of time warp machine hidden in the underground
mines that is making time go by super fast. This week was the first week of my
second transfer in Georgetown. It started with me going to the zone leaders
house and having slumber party because Elder Smith left a day early leaving me
with no companion. I stuck with them until my companion Elder Ooi got
there.
Elder Ooi is from Malaysia. He has been out for 16 months
and is a straight up genius on the piano. He has a keyboard that he brought. So
far we are having a great time together. He has a strong testimony and can
bring the spirit into every lesson. He is a great singer and enjoys singing,
humming or whistling at all times. I think that we will be able to teach well
together.
This week we were busy. We went to do a temple tour with one
of our investigators. After making the hour trek to the temple from Georgetown
our investigator didnt even show up. We were pretty bummed, but little did we
know God had us there for a different reason. There was couple that pulled up
on their Harley motorcycles and started walking around. They seemed a little
lost, but you could tell they were enjoying themselves. So we decided to go up
and talk to them. At first they kinda seemed like they wanted to walk away, but
we were there with one of our members that started talking about motorcycles
with them. The conversation led to them telling us how one was investigating
the church and wasnt feeling to good. We were able to take them into the chapel
next door and give her a blessing. The spirit was really strong and i know they
felt it. I am convinced that the Lord put us there so that we could help in the
conversion process of those two children of God. It was a cool experience.
On Sunday we gave talks in sacrament meeting about
forgiveness. We have been inviting everyone to come and we actually had a few
people surprise us and show up. It made us so happy to see them! The spirit was
so strong in the sacrament meeting and it all went well.
Besides all that, there wasnt anything too exciting this
week. Just lots of dust and road kill everywhere. We only had a few doors
slammed in our face. We had a guy tell us that all the mist that comes out of
jets in the air are actually chemicals that people have purposely trying to
spread in order to control us. So i guess that is unfortunate for everyone. But
hey, we have to Gospel so that is pretty amazing.
