We had a fun week in Georgetown. This week went by much
quicker than past weeks. Because i am the district leader i have been doing a
lot of exchanges with the missionaries in the district. It is always fun to
learn from other missionaries and get to know them better. I went on one with
an Elder from Korea. that was quite neat.
Elder Ooi and I have been having a good time. We went to a
part member family's house this week while they were out front putting up and
Indian tepee that they decided they wanted to sleep in for the night. Then they
brought out their Indian flutes and started playing them for us. It felt like i
was walking through ancient Indian territory all of the sudden.
Our district is trying a blitz in everyone's area this week.
That is where all the missionaries meet in one area and go out and work with a
member for a while seeing non members and potential investigators and such. our
first one was Saturday. I went out with a member to a neighboring ward and we
met a nice lady. She was having major health problems and was hooked up to
oxygen because she couldnt breath. She still had her cigarette in her mouth
though. That is addiction right there. Stay away from it, kids. It isnt the cool
thing anymore. We were able to give her a blessing though and the spirit came
in really strong.
Elder Ooi and I did a musical number in sacrament meeting
this week. It was a great thing we were able to invite lots of our
investigators and less active members too. We invited people all week, and sure
enough we had a bunch of people show up! we were so excited. Performing in
Sacrament meeting. It works. Promise. It helps that Elder Ooi has the voice of
an angel.
We did a good amount of service this week. We helped paint a
house with the Habitat for Humanity. We also helped an investigator trim the
trees in their christmas tree farm. It smelled like Christmas the whole time. I
almost broke out singing my favorite carols, but refrained myself in order to keep
others from judging me. :)
My birthday yesterday was great. It is really weird to think
i am no longer a teenager.
Fun Fact: I shined my shoes on Monday. They now look like
they were towed behind one of the logging trucks up here. Georgetown + shoes =
No Bueno.
Fun Fact: We made some homemade icecream and hand cranked
it. what an adventure.
Fun Fact: Our area currently has a super bad forest fire and
i am praying we dont burn down. That would be a bummer. The smoke is really
thick everywhere.
Thats all for this week! Love you all lots :)

Oh yeah, and like the subject says, the Church is true. If
you dont believe me, believe. :)
