12/8 email "South Sac"

What a week. We had lots of random things happen to us this week.
First, i went on an exchange with an Elder from Hong Kong. His accent was super funny. Good times.

Wednesday was the wettest day ever for us. It rained super hard all day. By the end of the night both of my coats and pairs of shoes were soaked. It took 5 days for my shoes to dry out. #fail. There is another massive rain storm coming this thursday. Pray for me. The storms have brought some intense fog though which has made biking mystical.

We had dinner with a family this week that spend the whole night on their phones. It was sad. Every member of the family was hanging out on their facebook/snapchat/instagram/vine/twitter/everything else there is since i have been gone. Dont do that kids.

We helped a family move this week. It was filthy. Urine soaked mattresses and blankets. Nasty. Also they were smoking Weed the whole time. I felt like i was going to die.

We were biking down the sidewalk the other day. We saw a little old lady with 3 little dogs barking at the big black dog of another lady. I was thinking to myself, "this isnt going to end well.." Sure enough the big dog got loose and attacked the little old lady and her dogs. We jumped off our bikes, contained all 4 dogs, and saved the little old lady. I have always wanted to do that. I felt like a champion.

Some people think we come out to convince people to come to our church so we can have more numbers on sunday. We are out here to help people change their lifestyle so they can have the happiness and blessing that come from it. As people align their entire life with the teachings of the gospel of Christ the joy, happiness, blessings, and miracles come naturally. We are living in a way that prepares us to live with our Father in Heaven, our brother Jesus Christ, and our families for eternity. How amazing is that? I love this gospel.

I hope you all embrace this Christmas season. It is an amazing time of year.

Love you all,

Elder Gage Black

PS. Here is a picture we took in front of a fun blow up christmas thing. They are all over our area. The second picture is me with Elder Leishman and Elder Witt. They both went to Lone Peak with me
