Well there isn't too much that is new in the past 4 days,
but it is now December! May the Holiday season begin! Everyone here is putting
up lights and Christmas trees and all those festive things.
On Saturday we were teaching a guy named Claud. Missionaries
have been reading the book of Mormon with him for months. He says he thinks it
is all great, but he will believe it when he sees the "Footprint" of
it, or the proof that the people were real. We are trying to help him
understand that the only way to prove it is my receiving a witness from the
Holy Ghost, but if anyone has any knowledge that links the BOM to the people in
Central/South America that I can share with this guy, it would be appreciated.
When we finished our lesson with him he asked us if we could give him a hand
with something. It turned into us putting up his Christmas lights because
"He is afraid of heights." It ended up being us putting up his lights
while he watched us and ate a bowl of beans. I think my favorite quote of his
was when he said, "Ahh they send the Elder 'Black' to convert the Black
man." Good times with my name.
The members in my new ward are really cool. So that makes
things fun. We had a couple of missionaries that had to sleep over because they
couldn't sleep in their house for a night. That was a party. We are trying to
work with the youth to find people to baptize. It should be fun. haha
Jesus Christ is the true gift of Christmas. Remember that. Christmas.Mormon.org . Share it.
Peace and blessings to you all,
Elder Gage Black
