We are only 10 days away from Christmas. How crazy is that?
Christmas time is so exciting. Everyone here goes all out in their decorating!
There are blow up decorations, lights, and random chirstmas things everywhere.
It makes biking through the neighborhoods exciting. This week was a wet one. It
rained on us a whole lot.
We had a temple conference this week. We got together with 5
zones of missionaries up on temple hill and had a Christmas program.
Missionaries performed musical numbers, and the president gave us a message.
Then we went to the temple and did a session with the mission president. It was
such an enjoyable day. I love the chance to go to the temple.
This week our stake did a community nativity where they
decked out the entire stake center with hundreds of nativity sets. There were
thousands of members and nonmembers who walked through during the 3 days it was
open. It was great.
We have been doing service for the community parks through
the church's new Justserve.org program. it has been a great opportunity to be
out in the community serving. It makes people realize that we are just here to
help out. I think sometimes people wonder why there are a bunch of clean cut
kids picking up trash at a park. We ensure them that we are not juvenile.
We found out yesterday that in July they are splitting our
mission. They will be forming the California Modesto mission. So that is pretty
exciting. We still dont have ipads though.
Here is a picture with me and my mission buddies out front
of the temple after temple conference. It is a good group of guys. Christmas is
coming up. Go share the true gift of christmas. :)
love you all,
Elder Gage Black
