Oct 20 email "Just Serve"

Have you ever helped someone move that has more belongings than items in a Walmart super center? Well this week we did. Just was a nice little Filipina lady, but holy sweet mother... i have never seen someone own soo much stuff. She made us some really good food though so it was worth it. 

We had a good week. We had the chance to do service for a lady who has been having health problems and has really needed help in her yard. We brought a member with us who ended up already knowing the lady. After we did a bunch of work for her, we turned to the member and invited him to give her the Book of Mormon we had in the car with us. When the lady received the book she was excited to read it. So that was pretty cool.

This week we had a kid call us up and said he wanted to check out our church. His parents are in the process of getting divorced and won't take him to a church, so he was searching for somewhere he could go. We found him a ride and he came to church yesterday! He said he really enjoyed it and felt the spirit really strong. We are hoping that he will remember that spirit and have a desire to have it in his life always. We will see where it goes. :)

I have major respect for everyone that goes to early morning seminary. We went and taught it this week... That is soo early. Major props. Teaching seminary was actually a lot of fun. We had one of the young men leaving on a mission there with us teaching and it was a great opportunity to show the youth that being a missionary is cool. 

Fun Fact: A member took us to dinner at one of the local bars. That was a weird experience. we were in the dining section, but still.. There are no restaurants in Georgetown that don't have a bar. funny how that works.

We had a lady call us saying she really needed us to get her some cat food and milk. When we dropped it off she was sobbing because she was so grateful. She tried to pay us over and over, but we repeatedly explained that we are missionaries, we don't take money, and we just like serving. Seeing her tears of gratitude was very touching though. It is moments like that as a missionary that you wouldn't trade for anything.

This church is amazing. This work is amazing. The Gospel is amazing. I am so grateful for the incredible growth of my testimony over the past 15 months. I love this work.
