This week wasn't too exciting, so sadly i dont have any
crazy stories to share. Just lots of biking and knocking and talking. We had
some kids stop us and ask us if we were the mail men because we all have
sidebags. It was kinda cute. We told them we deliver the gospel, which is much
better than the mail. We have been working so hard to try to find people to
teach. We have a few people we are working with, but no one is progressing like
we would like. The Viers are in Utah right now watching their granddaughter open
her mission call, so we are hoping that they feel the spirit super strong and
come home ready to be baptized. That would be great. :)
Janae Baird (the one who got baptized a few weeks ago) is
doing so well. She went and did baptisms for the dead with the youth of our
ward this week, and also received a calling yesterday. We are starting to get
close with her family and we are hoping to start teaching them soon. she
brought her 10 year old son to church again yesterday and he really enjoyed it.
He loves getting to know the primary kids and said he has found 2 new best
friends. As a missionary, it is so nice having a ward that will embrace and
love anyone you bring to church, even in the Primary. Our ward is focusing on
making any visitor that comes to our ward, member or not, feel loved and
welcome. It makes them feel more comfortable and willing to embrace the ward as
a family. We are having dinner with Janae and her family tonight. Elder Kahne
is cooking a bunch of french food for them. it should be great.
We had interviews this week with the Mission President. I
love being able to talk to President and Sister Lewis. They were able to give
me some great council and guidance. They are basically our parents for these
two years. Sadly they will be leaving in July and we will be getting a new
president. It makes me nervous, the new president will have some big shoes to
fill!
Missionary work is the greatest. I am so grateful for the
chance i have to be out here, not worrying about anything but finding,
teaching, and baptizing God's children. Watching how the Gospel can bless and
change lives is amazing.
I am so grateful for Jesus Christ. This Church is true.
