March 31st Email "Solid week with a Baptism :)"

Elder Kahne and I had another great week! Janae Baird got baptized this week and the service went really well. There were lots of tears shed by the people there because the spirit was so strong. There were quite a few non members there so we are really glad the baptism went well. Janae is super cool. She is 28, and a cool son who we are going to start working with, and she has a great testimony. She got confirmed yesterday and received the Holy Ghost. I love standing in the confirmation circle because every time the words "Receive the Holy Ghost" are said, i feel the spirit go through me, out my hands, and into the person. Kinda strange, but i love it :) The members here have been doing a such a great job at fellow shipping her into the ward and making her feel loved. I absolutely love the members here in the Folsom 5th ward. They are amazing. They really like us and are willing to help us in any way. Plus the members we live with are the coolest. So yeah, that is great n stuff.
We were able to hand out quite a few copies of the Book of Mormon as we went out and Survey tracted and will be following up this week, hoping we can add some of them as new investigators. We are really focusing on doing all we can to build our teaching pool. We do have a few great investigators, but we are always looking to find more. I am really excited for General Conference this week to be guided by the prophet and apostles. I hope everyone is getting ready to listen!
So kinda a sad week with our investigator Alvin. He came to church last week and loved it. During sacrament meeting he prayed, and felt the spirit testify that this church is true. but then he got scared and prayed again about the catholic church, and something told him that the Catholic church is also true. So Alvin feels like both churches are true, and there is no reason to be baptized again. We have tried explaining to him the importance of the priesthood, and about everything we could think of to show him how important it is. So we will see where he goes.
There is a college pretty close to where we live and we went there with the zone leaders to do surveys. It was really weird having a bunch of kids my age walking around, and trying to teach them about the gospel. It was a great experience though. There was a Tornado up in Roseville this week too. Roseville isnt to far away, so that is kinda crazy. I never woulda guessed there would be one here. The members we live with called us really worried and told us to get into a house asap. It was lovely.
Well missionary work is the best. I love hearing about all the people getting calls and going out right now. It is the greatest thing ever. I hope you all have a great week. Get excited for General Conference.
He lives. He loves. The church is true.
XOXO
